Santa Cruz County is home to an amazing 17 California State Parks! Must-visit county beaches include Seabright, Seacliff, Rio Del Mar, and New Brighton; for surfers Manresa, and for swimmers Twin Lakes beaches.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park

On the north western side of Santa Cruz County, Big Basin State Park is not only the oldest state park in California, but also boasts the largest old growth stands of ancient redwoods south of San Francisco today. Among some 80 miles of trails, the Skyline to the Sea Trail connects the depths of the forests to the ocean, along creeks and past waterfalls.
